PAST CONTESTS

FALL 2020 NPC CREATION:

In this contest, members are encouraged to create and submit memes that encompass the spirit and community of LoreFolk.

  • Entries may be posted in the #contests channel.

  •  Images must be SFW and should not include political or divisive content. Profanity (excluding slurs) may be acceptable--please use your judgement.

  • If creating a meme that references another player, we strongly encourage reaching out to DM and communicate with the player before submitting the meme.

    • (Humor and gentle teasing can easily skirt towards bullying even when the intention was to make the other person laugh. We all have different soft spots and communication can ensure that no one is prodded in a way that hurts.)

  • Staff will select memes from the submissions for the final round of voting in November. Players can vote by reacting with a checkmark emoji.

Using the character creation template, create an NPC and submit to the #contests channel between March 20th and May 31st.

We're looking for NPCs that are at home in a slice of life where creatures from folklore, myth, and legend live, work, and play.

Winners will be selected by staff based on thoughtfulness, creativity, and having the most "mythpunk" theme.

SPRING 2018 CHARACTER CREATION:

We're celebrating the opening of LoreFolk with a Character Creation Contest!

Folk wind up in Lore in one of two ways: either they come here intentionally or they wind up here by accident. The specifics of how characters wind up in Lore are a whole other story!

Lore is a magical place and there are many ways to arrive. Characters have wandered in after getting off at the wrong subway stop, walked too far into the back of their closet, walked down an alleyway, or by going into the 'beyond' section of popular bed & bath retailer.

Participants are encouraged to create unique ways for their characters to end up in Lore.

Congratulations to Botchmun & Crooked, our Winners:

Crooked's character Benjamin Ethan MacDonald inspired staff with the depiction of stumbling through a fog-filled cemetery and emerging into Lore. This embodied what we love about Lore: the eerie and uncanny feeling were the familiar becomes unfamiliar.

Botchmun's character Rita Lovis brought a smile to staff's face as Rita and her sister, Chelsea, met a Hawaiian-shit wearing skeleton that offered the the twins cheap real estate in Lore. The whimsy of their skeleton guide demonstrated the absurd part of Lore we love so much.
